This sounded really fun! I think those of you who still live in Rochester have done this before. But - I plan to do this while there this time! Not too expensive, history of the area shared duing the tour, food and drink on the boat. Probably some good fall colors? https://www.sampatch.org/
I've been on the tour from Fairport to Pittsford and back on the Colonial Belle, it's a history tour. Very relaxing and fun, maybe you could get a group together to do the canal tour.
