CHANGE OF PLANS!!!
Heads Up "Spirits of Penfield" History Tour Sign Ups!
Due to the likelihood of yucky weather Saturday afternoon,
the tour through the cemetery has been re-organized
to be a tour and presentation
in the History Room at the back of the library.
Park at library, and once inside the library
the reception desk can direct you to the History Room.
This is also a nice opportunity for those of you who donated to actually see the room your donations are going to!
Anna Jarvis is the coordinator for that section of the library, and she will be your hostess.
If the weather does become more amenable to a walk through the cemetery,
you're more than welcome to do that after the History Room tour and presentation.
A Tour of Penfield's Oakwood Cemetery - MOVED TO THE HISTORY ROOM
Saturday, October 7th at 1 p.m.
Join Penfield Town Historian Kathy Kanauer and Local History Room Coordinator Anna Jarvis for a stroll around Oakwood Cemetery as they introduce you to a general history of Penfield.
The tour will include lively talks about the town's Founding Fathers (and Mothers), a scattering of families that were particularly prolific, people known of who have good stories, etc. Come learn about some folks who have called your hometown of Penfield their home, too, over the past 220 years.
Space is limited to 30 people and advance registration is required.
There is no charge, but donations to Penfield’s Local History Room are gratefully received.
It is not required that you be registered for the the 50th reunion, so go ahead and sign up and bring a friend!
Are you wondering who's going on the "Spirits of Penfield" tour?
