Ouchie... I heard based on Leslie's research that rooms rates are going at about a minimum of $300 a night and as high as around $500 a night. That's a sizeable increase from a few months ago! My suggestion is... book early. Do due diligence on cancellation policies, and don't stop shopping for better deals.
If you're planning on spending most of your time not in a room, consider some local AIRBNB hosts in the area.

Wanted to provide an update on rooms. They are getting booked for Oct 6-8. The Hampton Inn has a few rooms left. The Marriott Courtyard and DelMonte (Pittsford) have rooms available but the prices have increased since I first checked availability and pricing in Jan. I hesitate to quote prices because they fluctuate and you may have rewards, AAA membership, etc. that could reduce rates. Definitely ask for the Sr. Citizen rates. i am not sure an app like Hopper works for hotels like it does for flights but that ,or something like it, might help you get the best deal.
