Penfield 1973 50th Reunion Update – 2/16/23

Hey all… Here’s a quick update on where things stand with our Reunion:

1. ALL SYSTEMS GO for the weekend of October 6 – 8, 2023!
2. The Committee is working on finalizing the arrangements for the Friday and Saturday main events:
a. Friday evening meet and greet at the DeLand House on Main (Fairport)
b. Saturday late afternoon BBQ/Pig Roast at the Log Cabin (Macedon)
3. Once we get some details sorted out in the next couple of weeks, we will set a price for the weekend… and we expect to start accepting Registrations/Payment (via the website) in the early Spring… We are doing our best to keep costs in check. This is NOT a money making enterprise.
4. The website is alive and very well.. Lynne Perry has done a phenomenal job in putting this together for us, and continues to update it regularly. We encourage you to poke around, and more importantly, use it! It’s a great way to stay in contact with each other, go down Memory Lane (see Gallery) and to keep up to date on Reunion news. Check out the 50th Reunion section.. your classmates are providing useful Hotel info, Things To Do, and Emergency info for the weekend, among other things.. https://penfieldhs1973.com/forum/index.php?cat=5
5. If you are coming in from out of town, you may want to start looking at your Hotel arrangements. Some places we reached out to have limited availability that weekend.
6. We are working on some other events for that weekend… for example a Golf Tournament and High School Tour.. Penfield High School does not have a schedule yet for any sports or other activities (e.g. soccer/football games, etc.) for that weekend… we’ll keep you posted as we learn more. If you have ideas of other events you’d like to suggest for the weekend, feel free to let us know through the website. And be prepared to help us organize that event.. 😊
7. The Committee is working on providing some Penfield Class of 1973 Merchandise/Memorabilia for sale… Some nice items to recognize the event, with proceeds helping to keep the overall costs down. More on that soon.
8. We need your help in finding classmates.. Please reach out to whoever you can from our class and encourage them to sign-up at the website. Signing up does not mean they are coming to the Reunion… but it does help us (and them) to know we have made that connection going forward. Website address: https://penfieldhs1973.com/
9. We also are using our FaceBook class page to find classmates and keep that community informed: Go to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/111100355609730
10. Any questions/comments? Feel free to email the Committee at info@penfieldhs1973.com

That’s all for now… Looking forward to seeing you all in October!

As it's likely that most registered classmates don't check the site too regularly, or they haven't subscribed to this forum for email notifications of updates, puh-lease feel free to spread the news!

Your reunion committee has been hard at work planning, preparing, scheduling, debating, voting, amending and a bunch of other stuff. Here's what we know fer sure:

REUNION REGISTRATIONS

The price for the Reunion's Friday and Saturday evening events has been cast in concrete. It is $100.00 per person (includes both evenings).

Registrations will be available to purchase online by credit card starting on the evening of Monday, May 1st.

HIGH SCHOOL TOUR

Many thanks to Leslie who headed up this effort. The tour is free and will be sometime on Saturday morning, October 7th. Details forthcoming on the exact time.

FRIDAY NIGHT ACTIVITY
We know there is a football game scheduled at the high school between Penfield and Aquinas the Friday night of October 6th, we're working to schedule the "Meet & Greet" event to give people time to attend both the "Meet & Greet" and the football game if that's what they want to do.

You will be hearing a lot more soon here and on our FB page from the committee's Grand Pubah - Jim Gubiotti - real soon now!

Huzzah!

...I guess that's all she wrote.
